한국의 겨울 (Winter In Korea)

안녕하세요 여러분~

Today we’ll learn about winter in Korea.

First let’s start with a small conversation between Nisha and Amit.

 

니샤: 나는 한국의 겨울을 좋아해요. 아미트 씨는 어때요?

nisya: naneun hangugui gyeoureul johahaeyo. amiteu ssi neun eottaeyo?

아미트: 너무 추워서 나랑 안 맞아요. 나는 따뜻한 날씨를 좋아해요.

amiteu: neomu chuwoseo narang an majayo. naneun ttatteushan nalssireul johahaeyo.

니샤: 그렇군요. 추위를 잘 타나 봐요.

nisya: geureohgunyo. chuwireul jal tana bwayo.

아미트: 네, 맞아요. 추위를 잘 타는 편이에요. 니샤 씨는요?

amiteu: ne, majayo. chuwireul jal taneun pyeonieyo. nisya ssi neunyo?

니샤: 나는 추위를 잘 안 타요.

nisya: naneun chuwireul jal an tayo.

아미트: 좋겠어요. 눈이 꽁꽁 얼어서 나 먼저 들어갈게요.

amit: johgesseoyo. nuni kkongkkong eoreoseo na meonjeo deureogalgeyo.

니샤: 네, 눈길 조심해서 가세요.

nisha: ne, nungil josimhaeseo gaseyo.

 

Below is the Translation for the conversation which we read above conversation between Nisha and Amit:-

Nisha : I like Korea’s Winter. How about you Mr. Amit ?

Amit : It don’t suit me because it’s very cold. I like warm weather.

Nisha : Is that so! It seems you are very sensitive to cold.

Amit : Yes, That’s right. I’m very sensitive to cold. How about you Nisha ?

Nisha : I am not sensitive to cold.

Amit : That must feel good. I am going in first because my hands are freezing.

Nisha : Yes, Be careful when you go on snowy road.

 

Vocabulary- (어휘):

Winter –겨울 (Gyeoul)

To be cold – 춥다 (chupda)

To be Warm –  따뜻하다 (Ttatteuthada)

Weather – 날씨 (Nalssi) ;

Hand – 손 (Son)

Snowy Road – 눈길 (Nungil)

To be Frozen – 꽁꽁얼다 (Kkongkkongeolda)

Sensitive to cold – 추의들 타다 (Chueuideul tada)

Sensitive to heat – 더위를 타다 (Deouireul tada)

To be Good-좋아하다 (johahada)

 

Grammar Patterns-(문법):

So let us now practice some grammar patterns we learn in our conversation with few examples sentences.

  • [Noun+은/는- Subject Particle]

나는 한국의 겨울을 좋아해요.  [I like Korea’s Winter]

(naneun hangugui gyeoureul johahaeyo)

재민 씨는 사과를 좋아해요.   [Jaemin ssi likes Apple]

(jaemin ssineun sagwareul johahaeyo)

 

  • [Noun+의- Possessive Case Marker]

나는 한국의 겨울을 좋아해요.  [I like Korea’s Winter]

(naneun hangugui gyeoureul johahaeyo)

 

  • [Noun+을/를- Object Marker]

나는 추위를 잘 안 타요.  [I am not sensitive to cold]

(naneun chuwireul jal an tayo)

저는 밥을 먹어요.  [I eat rice]

(jeoneun babeul meogeoyo)

 

  • [Verb+아요/어요 (아,오-아요 ; other vowels – 어요) Present Tense Form]

먹다 – 먹어요 [To Talk, Speak,To Say]

(Meokda – Meogeoyo)

물어보다 – 물어봐요 [To Ask]

(Mureoboda – Mureobwayo)

 

  • [Mr/Mrs./Miss – 씨]

아미트 씨는 어때요? [How about you Mr Amit?]

(Amiteu ssi neun eottaeyo?)

 

  • [It Seems -나+Verb/Adjective]

추위를 잘 타나 봐요  [It seems you are very sensitive to cold]

(chuwireul jal tana bwayo)

 

  • [(with first person for future tense) – Verb+을/ㄹ 게요.]

저는 초대할게요  [I will invite you]

(jeoneun chodaehalgeyo)
